PEC / EML / PRACTICAL GUIDE

How to open PEC and EML attachments privately

Certified email often arrives as an EML message containing delivery notices, signatures and business documents. Opening only the outer message can leave the important invoice or signed attachment buried inside.

WORKFLOW / 03 STEPS

From difficult file to readable document.

  1. 01

    Export the message as EML

Use the export or save function in your mail or PEC service. Preserve the original message when delivery evidence matters.

  2. 02

    Inspect the message locally

Open the EML in EU Document Opener to review available sender, recipient, subject, date and attachment information.

  3. 03

    Continue into the attachment

Select a supported P7M, XML, PDF or invoice attachment for preview or extraction. Save only the copies you need.

PEC messages can contain several layers

A PEC delivery may include the original message, transport or receipt data, a signed envelope and one or more attachments. This nesting is normal, but it is inconvenient in viewers that treat EML as plain text.

EU Document Opener is designed to move from a supported message into supported documents contained inside it.

Preserve evidence separately

Reading or extracting an attachment is not the same as maintaining a legally compliant PEC archive. Keep the original message and any required receipts according to the rules that apply to you.

The app offers document inspection, not legal advice or authoritative proof validation.

Why local processing helps

Email archives and invoices often contain confidential personal and financial data. Local processing avoids adding an online conversion service to the chain of recipients. The app does not require an account or upload message contents to Eutopix Labs.

FAQ / VERIFIED SCOPE

Questions about this file type.

Is a PEC file the same as EML?

PEC systems commonly export standards-based EML messages, but their attachments and receipt structure carry the certified-email context.

Can I open a P7M attachment inside the message?

Yes, when both the message and attached P7M use supported structures.

Does viewing an EML prove delivery?

No. The app exposes available message information but does not provide authoritative legal validation of PEC delivery evidence.
